The short answer

Does NetSuite file your sales tax?

NetSuite calculates sales tax, with or without SuiteTax, but registering, filing, paying and answering the states is still work for your team. Zamp runs sales tax from inside NetSuite, and our team files every return.

What changes when Zamp runs sales tax on NetSuite.

NetSuite stays your system of record. Zamp handles the calculation it needs and the compliance work that comes after.

SuiteTax or legacy tax, it works the same.

Zamp installs as a SuiteBundle in your sandbox or production account and runs whether or not SuiteTax is on. SuiteTax can't be turned off once it's enabled, so you can change providers without changing your tax setup.

Taxability stays in NetSuite.

Product tax codes live on your item records and exemptions on your customer records, down to the state for customers with more than one address. NetSuite stays the source of truth, and Zamp files from it.

Nexus caught before it costs you.

At onboarding, sync the prior year of NetSuite transactions and Zamp runs a full nexus review. From then on, thresholds are tracked as you sell, with a warning at 80% so you can approve a registration in time.

Multi-channel

Every channel that reaches NetSuite, recorded once.

Orders from Shopify, Amazon and other channels often reach NetSuite through connectors like Celigo, with tax already charged. Zamp records them for filing without recalculating or double counting, next to the invoices you raise in NetSuite.

Not just a tool. A sales tax team.

Every Zamp subscription is a managed service. The platform calculates and tracks, and our tax specialists register, file, remit, and answer the state.

  2. Install and test the bundle. We install the SuiteBundle with you on a live call, test it in your sandbox where you have one, and sync last year's transactions for a nexus review.

What to look for in a NetSuite sales tax partner.

  • It runs inside NetSuite, with or without SuiteTax, so NetSuite stays your source of truth.

  • Someone else owns the work. Ask who registers, files, pays and answers notices, and who covers a mistake.

  • Nexus is tracked across every channel you sell on, not only NetSuite.

  • One price you can predict as you grow, with registrations and filings included.

Does Zamp work with NetSuite SuiteTax?

Yes. Zamp's SuiteBundle runs on SuiteTax accounts and on accounts using NetSuite's legacy tax setup. Product tax codes and customer exemptions work the same way in both, and our team handles the SuiteTax-specific steps, such as nexus dates, during installation.

What sales tax software integrates with NetSuite and also files returns?

Zamp integrates with NetSuite through a SuiteBundle that calculates tax inside NetSuite and sends every finalized transaction to Zamp for filing. Our team then handles registrations, returns, payments and state notices for one price, so you get the integration and the compliance work together.

Can we switch from Avalara on NetSuite to Zamp?

Yes. Zamp replaces your current tax bundle in NetSuite, brings in your transaction history and takes over registrations and filings without a gap. If you're partway through a contract, ask us about our contract buyout.

How does NetSuite sales tax automation work with Zamp?

Tax is calculated when a sales order, invoice or cash sale is saved, using the item's product tax code, any customer exemption and the ship-to address. Finalized invoices, cash sales, credit memos and refunds post to Zamp, and our team turns them into returns you approve.

Does Zamp have to calculate tax on every NetSuite transaction?

No. You choose where Zamp calculates. Transactions taxed somewhere else, like e-commerce or marketplace orders imported through Celigo, still post to Zamp for filing without being recalculated.

Will the Zamp bundle slow NetSuite down?

Not noticeably. On average, saving a transaction takes 2 to 3% longer, and about 4% for large transactions with 60 or more lines. Small transactions show no noticeable difference.

Does Zamp support NetSuite OneWorld and multiple subsidiaries?

Yes. Zamp supports multiple subsidiaries, each with its own nexus, liability tracking and reporting. Canadian GST, HST, PST and QST are available on the U.S. + Canada plan.

We already use a sales tax provider with NetSuite. How do we switch to Zamp?

Most teams switch at the end of a filing period. We move your existing registrations, filing calendar and NetSuite history over, your current provider files its last period and Zamp files the next, so no return is missed or filed twice. If you're mid-contract, ask about the Zamp buyout.

We haven’t been collecting or filing sales tax everywhere we should. Can Zamp help us catch up?

Yes. A specialist reviews where you sell and where you may already owe. Then we agree a path with you, from filing past-due returns to a voluntary disclosure or registering going forward, and our team does the filing.

Keep NetSuite. Hand off the sales tax.
