Zamp Raises $10M Series A Led by Valor Equity Partners
We're excited to announce that Zamp has raised a $10 million Series A, led by Jon Shulkin (Valor Equity Partners), with participation from Masha Bucher (Day One Ventures), John Fogelsong (Friends & Family Capital), Wei Guo (UpHonest Capital) and Sri Batchu (20Growth).
Some of the best operators across tech, government, and eCommerce sectors have partnered with us as investors to help fuel our growth: Mike Stoppelman (former SVPE, Yelp), Zac Bookman (CEO, OpenGov), Prasanna Sankar (CTO, Rippling), Adrian Fenty (former Mayor of Washington DC), Jon Oringer (Founder, Shutterstock), Yahya Mokhtarzada (Co-Founder, Truebill), Swapnil & Snehal Shinde (Co-Founders, Zeni.ai), Jeffrey Raider (Founder, Warby Parker & Harry’s), Joey Zwillinger (Co-Founder, Allbirds), Silvia Aguirre (CEO, TaxCSA), and Ray Thornson (Managing Director, Andersen Tax).
We’re extremely grateful to work with these industry leaders. Together, we’re excited to continue shaping Zamp into the best-in-class sales tax solution that teams actually love.

Our Progress Over the Last Year
Since launching in Summer 2023, we’ve had quite the momentum.
Zamp has evolved to cover more platform integrations, provide more robust reporting functionality, and support more complex compliance requirements like state-specific local filings.
It’s been incredible to see Zamp becoming a trusted partner to hundreds of companies of all sizes - from 9-figure businesses to early-stage startups. It’s very likely that Zamp is powering the companies behind the products that you use and love today. Companies like Cult Gaia, Glamnetic, Pristine Auction, and Puzzle Financial.
Zamp is the sales tax solution of choice for over 400 eCommerce and SaaS teams. While some find Zamp and start using it from day one, more commonly we see companies switching over from legacy tools. Portland Leather Goods, ShineOn, Noonbrew and Handwrytten are just a few of the companies that have recently migrated over.
Zamp has also built a strong base of both platform partners like Stripe, BigCommerce, and Shopify as well as service partners like Withum, Crew Accounting, and SimplyVAT.
The reason these companies and partners are choosing Zamp isn’t just for more accessible support, our deep sales tax expertise, or our unique pricing model. It’s the combination of all of these elements coming together for a better way to manage sales tax— so teams can focus on driving growth, instead of managing a cost center.
“I’m no longer spending multiple hours in a month trying to reconcile large amounts of data for Shopify and wholesale and retail. We have a lot more time to really dig into our own trends and day-to-day tasks.”
Marya Jimenez, Assistant Controller at Glamnetic
“You want to be able to hop on the phone easily with a person who knows your account. That's a need that Zamp is able to actually fulfill.”
Paige Honeycomb, Chief of Staff at Puzzle Financial
“They've been able to catch a lot of things that we weren't aware of.”
Rose Sprague, Accounting Associate at Annmarie Skin Care
The Launch of Z-Tax
From the beginning, Zamp has been and continues to be committed to being a pioneer in the sales tax industry.
Last year, we launched the first-ever managed sales tax solution to directly address the pain points of eCommerce and SaaS companies. Our vision deeply resonated with the market, many of whom have joined forces with us.
Today, we are making that managed sales tax solution more accessible and launching a white-label product called Z-Tax. Z-Tax enables accounting partners to seamlessly integrate a sales tax compliance solution into their own offering without increasing headcount or overhead costs.
Why is this needed? Two reasons:
(1) There is a rapidly growing accounting talent shortage in the US. Enrollment in accounting programs and the number of CPA candidates has been on the decline for the last two decades.
(2) Tax compliance has been getting more complex with the rise in regulations, increased scrutiny, and greater level of compliance enforcement.
With Z-Tax, accountants and bookkeepers can focus their limited time on providing higher-value consulting and advisory services to their clients while our team manages the entire sales tax process on the backend. We have already seen success with partners using Z-Tax to attract new business and retain existing clients, and we are excited to continue working with our partners to build out this solution.
The Next Chapter
While this is an exciting milestone, there is a long journey ahead of us.
Today, we are a team of 35 people and we plan to continue expanding the team very intentionally. One of our core beliefs is that smaller and more focused teams achieve better quality results in the right environment. If you want to be a part of that journey or know someone that would be a great fit, we are hiring.
Lastly, we are incredibly grateful for our customers, our partners, and the community. We’ve met at events, chatted over coffee, and jumped on hundreds of calls. We know that so much of where we are today is because of your support and trust.
Thank you and we’re looking forward to continue building for you.
